Zazzle promotions

Zazzle has promoted some of my products recently. I did notice a few sales from this.

One effort I am trying to make is to increase my work on Zazzle. At this time, instead of original things, I have bought licenses to put together many graphic elements in an original way.

It has helped me to experiment and learn how to use programs such as Adobe Illustrated, which was not available to me in a meaningful way, before this year.

I'm much more comfortable with the Photoshop program, and have worked far more with my photos than anything else. There are so many things that new versions of the Adobe software can do, and I have not even scratched the surface (time limitations!)

After blogging proved to be of little remuneration (I make a few cents a day for my time blogging, after costs), the next thing to look towards for online income is to develop POD sites. At the moment, I only work on Zazzle.

It is hard going, learning the ropes of a new sector.

I do like challenges (obviously, since I keep blogging) and have the conviction that at least I am learning something, even if I can't quite make a business of it.

I do believe I am my own worst enemy in some of this. Experimenting, rather than doing the everyday work of writing or creating has alway been an issue.

But back to topic: I appreciate that the main site is choosing "little guys" like me for promotions. Most of my royalties are in the "under a half-dollar" category. This is due to my concentration on the types of products that have low profit (tissue paper, stickers, etc)

It can be very hard to go from the artist mentality to the bsiness one. That is another reason to use commercial materials that are available at marketplaces like Designcuts. I've invested a small fortune in them.

Hopefully, more of my work will be desirable in the marketplace as I learn how to find my voice and style.
